Mayor Launches New Series of Monthly “March On” Community Meetings
Mayor Debra March is launching a new series of monthly community meetings, each highlighting a different topic of interest to Henderson residents.
“I’m looking forward to hosting these monthly ‘March On’ meetings and to bringing our community closer together. These events will also give me the chance to meet with members of the community and to listen to their comments and concerns,” March says.
The meetings are designed to encourage an open dialogue between neighbors and city leaders regarding issues of importance to those who live in Henderson. Mayor March will be joined at the events by city staff that will be on hand to answer questions and provide information to residents.
August’s “March On” meeting will feature a back to school theme and will include information from the Henderson Parks and Recreation Department on upcoming events and activities for both adults and students. The event will be held from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. August 10 at the Whitney Ranch Recreation Center located at 1575 Galleria Drive.
The meetings will be held at various locations around Henderson. For more information about dates, times, locations and topics for future “March On” community meetings, please visit CityOfHenderson.com.
Henderson Chamber of Commerce Holds Ribbon-Cuttings in July
The Henderson Chamber of Commerce hosted ribbon-cuttings in July for Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging Center’s newest location and the Strong A.R.M. Foundation.
In 1958, Dr. Leon Steinberg came to Las Vegas to help Sunrise Hospital build the first radiology center in Southern Nevada. Through his experience in the hospital setting, he saw a need for a more patient-friendly option for medical imaging and aimed to build such a practice. With his son, David, and Dr. Mark Winkler as his partners, Dr. Leon opened the first SDMI office in 1988. Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging Center celebrated the grand opening July 5 of the eighth location, 800 N. Gibson Road, Suite 110, Henderson, NV 89011.
Their standards of excellence in patient care and technology have brought national and international recognition from the medical imaging and health care communities. Today, that commitment to deliver top-notch care wrapped around a positive patient experience has never been stronger.
The chamber also hosted the ribbon-cutting for Strong A.R.M. Foundation on July 19 at the Henderson Chamber of Commerce office. The foundation’s mission is to reach out to our most at-risk women and children to raise their confidence, maximize their potential and encourage personal growth. Strong A.R.M. Foundation is dedicated to helping these individuals unleash their talents through arts, recreation and multicultural activities along with guiding them to achieve personal excellence through partnerships with community resources.
