LYFE Kitchen is Keeping Henderson Healthy

More than the typical health food restaurant

Vegan and gluten-free Henderson locals need not fear a lack of tasty options in their community.

The District at Green Valley Ranch, an upscale mixed-use development adjacent to the east of Green Valley Ranch, houses a ton of great dining options for those who are seeking a guilt-free lunch, or a meal that is friendly to their food allergies or vegan and gluten-free lifestyles. Locals flock to this grand mix of shops and boutiques to add style to their wardrobe as well as to The District’s health clubs, fitness centers, juice shops and restaurants in search of fun and exciting hot spots to add to their active lifestyle and fitness regimes.

One shining star in The District’s lineup of health-conscious lifestyle restaurants is the bright, casual and delicious LYFE Kitchen. The Henderson LYFE Kitchen opened its doors about three years ago, three years after the restaurant launched their initial location. LYFE, which stands for Love Your Food Everyday, launched its first restaurant in Palo Alto, California, in October 2011. To date, the chain has a total of 16 locations across six states: California, Colorado, Nevada, Illinois, Tennessee and Texas.

Surprisingly, a pair of former McDonald’s executives started the healthy dining option. Not so surprisingly, the menu was co-created by vegan cookbook author—and Oprah’s former chef—Art Smith. It’s easy to spot a pattern in the menu. LYFE offers lean protein entrées, salads, sandwiches, bowls, shareables and unique beverages. Not a single item on LYFE Kitchen’s menu is fried, and almost every item is less than 600 calories and contains less than 1,000 milligrams of sodium. LYFE also boasts food that is free of preservatives or genetically modified organisms, including 100 percent grass-fed steaks and antibiotic- and hormone-free meat and poultry. Even more impressive, all items are locally grown and organic whenever possible.

LYFE is more than your typical health food lunch spot. Its founders consider LYFE a “lifestyle” restaurant. It’s a place where the customers visit to feel good about their meal. They aren’t just getting served food that is good for them in a healthy or low-calorie sense, they are getting a meal that tastes fantastic for a reasonable price.

Not only is the price fit for any lifestyle, but the wait time is too. When customers are ready, they can place their order at the restaurant’s counter. Before ordering or while waiting, customers can see and smell the assortment of fresh herbs used in the restaurant’s most famous dishes in LYFE’s Herb Wall—one of the most unique features of the establishment.

Food is then served to seated customers on china with silverware and glassware. LYFE offers a bright, modern dining area for those customers hoping to sit and unwind with friends or co-workers in a casual environment, but is also a great place for a quick bite—especially when you’re pressed for time. Often people feel, when they are in a time crunch, opting for a fast meal means sacrificing quality or health. At LYFE, meals are cooked from scratch in an open kitchen in less than 10 minutes.

Remaining cutting-edge and on trend in the restaurant world, last year LYFE launched a new mobile app. The app allows guests to easily order their favorite items from their smartphone or device while on the go, while also earning rewards points. Additionally, the app makes it easy for guests to track and redeem those loyalty rewards points for free food and drink items, access special cooking tips, receive invitations to LYFE’s special events and browse ideas for entertaining guests.

LYFE can easily be considered a pioneer in fast-fine dining, and a perfect fit for the Green Valley Ranch area. It’s an elevated experience that caters to a healthy and active lifestyle, especially for those who are searching for alternatives to fast food.
